The power of a smile, that is the point of the second principle of Part 2 of the book. The author gives many examples where a good attitude makes all the difference. I see this everyday. I live in family housing, and most people that live in campus housing for families are not too excited about that. When I pass other parents with their children I see the children are smiling but the parents are not. I have tried smiling and greeting the other parents when I pass them in the halls, and it has had an impact. Before, when my girls would knock on their door to play with their kids some moms wouldn't even come to the door. They would holler from inside that they were busy. However, after my daughter smiled and asked another girl how her day was her mom was happy to let her play with us.
